Statoil has reported that a flight en route to the West Aquarius drilling rig returned to St. John’s after a Tail Rotor Servo Pressure indicator light illuminated. There were seven passengers on board. (The flight arrived without incident. The tail rotor servo has an isolated secondary back-up system so there was no impairment to functionality.)
The Cougar Search and Rescue helicopter was airbourne at the time conducting planned training and followed the aircraft to the base as a precautionary measure only. No emergency was called and the pilots did not request assistance. Passengers were briefed following arrival.
